My Approach

Clients who come for help because of anxiety and stress can find a CBT based approach helpful.

 

CBT helps us to understand the way our brain works and how our bodies respond to strong feelings such as fear and anxiety. Unlearning patterns of behaviour and learning more healthy ones, equips clients with the tools they need to bring about change in how
to manage their lives that is more fulfilling

Grief and Loss

Humans go through a natural process of bereavement for the many of life’s  major losses, for example: death, divorce, a change of home, a loss of job or loss caused by illness and poor health.

 

Although counselling cannot take away the normal pain of loss and  bereavement, it can help to bring an understanding which in turn can help people to heal and find a way forward. From birth human beings seek to establish and maintain connection with other human beings. When a loved one dies, the sadness, yearning and need to search are likely to be intense and for a time at least inescapable.

 

Grief is the inevitable result of the  loss of someone we love and to whom we are attached the ways in which people grieve are as varied as the ways in which people love.
